Sensation due to murder of mother and son in Govindpuri
A heart-wrenching incident has come to light late night in Govindpuri, south-east Delhi, where a mother and son were brutally murdered. The deceased have been identified as 42-year-old Sharda and her 15-year-old son Kushal. According to the police, both were attacked with a sharp weapon. At the time of the incident, only mother and son were present in the house, while the head of the family had gone to Budh Bazaar to set up shop. When he returned home late at night, he saw blood scattered inside. On going inside, the wife and son were found in a blood-soaked condition in the kitchen, after which the police was immediately informed. Police have suspected robbery in the preliminary investigation, however, the case is being investigated from all angles. No accused has been arrested so far.
Double murder in Rohini area also
A case of murder of two minor boys has come to light in Aman Vihar area of Rohini district of Delhi. The deceased have been identified as Johnny (16) and Dhruv (17), who are said to be friends. According to police sources, the accused were taken into custody shortly after the incident, although the police have not yet officially confirmed this. Initial investigation has also revealed that the accused had reached the same area where they had allegedly misbehaved and assaulted a woman. It is alleged that after this dispute, the woman’s son attacked him with a sharp weapon, which the accused himself had brought. At present, Aman Vihar police station is investigating the matter and along with collecting evidence from the incident site, it is also interrogating the local people, so that the entire truth of the incident can be revealed.
Murder in North East Delhi, bullets fired at young man
On Tuesday night, unknown miscreants killed a 22-year-old youth by firing indiscriminately in the Welcome police station area of North-East Delhi of the capital. According to the information, this incident happened near Keshav Chowk and Shyam Lal College. After the firing, the young man died on the spot, due to which panic spread in the area. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. The police have registered a case of murder and started searching for the accused. During the investigation, police and forensic teams have collected evidence from the spot. Apart from this, the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is being scrutinized so that the attackers can be identified.
According to the information, the name of the deceased youth is 22-year-old Amanullah Qureshi, who was a resident of Gurudwara Mohalla of Maujpur. Police said that Amanullah’s father’s name is Mohammad Taslim. In this incident that took place on Tuesday night, unknown miscreants opened fire near Keshav Chowk and Shyam Lal College, in which the youth died on the spot. According to the police, it is currently being investigated how many bullets the young man was hit with and for what purpose the attackers had reached there. The investigation is being carried forward from many angles regarding the reason behind the incident and the identity of the accused.
Uncle-nephew dispute proved fatal
A family dispute turned into a violent clash in Delhi’s Subhash Place area, in which both uncle and nephew lost their lives. According to the information, there was a knife fight during the fight, in which the nephew suffered several serious injuries and he is currently in a critical condition in the hospital. Meanwhile, uncle died on the spot. After the incident, the police have registered the case and investigation into the entire matter has been started. Initially it is believed to be a violent fight arising out of a family dispute.
Minor stabbed to death in Narela
In Narela area of Delhi, a minor got the gift of death on his 17th birthday. This dreadful gift was given by his friend. In Narela area, a 17-year-old minor was stabbed to death on his birthday. After a dispute with a friend in Kureni village, the accused made a fatal attack on the neck of the teenager with a knife. He stabbed his friend and ran away, leaving his friend dying. The minor was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Delhi Police has detained the minor accused in the case. The knife used in the murder has also been recovered. The police is interrogating the accused to investigate the reasons behind the murder.
Delhi tops in terms of crime
According to the latest data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the number of criminal cases in Delhi remains the highest compared to other metros in the country. According to the report, a total of 2,75,402 criminal cases were registered in Delhi in the year 2024. Earlier this number was 3,23,549 in 2023 and 2,98,988 in 2022. Although there has been a decline in cases in 2024 compared to 2023, the national capital still tops the list of crimes recorded. Among the country’s 19 metropolitan cities, which are defined as urban areas with a population of more than 20 lakh, Delhi led. Of the 58.85 lakh criminal cases registered across India during 2024, about 4.67 per cent were related to Delhi alone. The National Crime Records Bureau report also shows that Delhi has long been among the leading crime-recording metros in the country, although the figures have seen fluctuations from year to year.
