Police were seen detaining people who were gathering at one place in groups of 10 or more. The police were removing them from the protest site and taking them to different places. The detained people were taken to several other places, including Badarpur police station and police stations in North Outer Delhi.
At present, the main center of protest remains around Janpath, where about 50-60 people are still gathered and protesting. Police are stopping the protesters from moving towards Sansad Marg and Jantar Mantar. Earlier on Thursday, the police had refused permission for the proposed demonstration against alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. After this, security arrangements were tightened in Central Delhi.
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) will launch its 'Jail Bharo Andolan' against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Mumbai's Shivaji Park today. The reason for CJP's protest against the CEC is an Indian Express report, which revealed differences within the Election Commission. However, the decision to protest in Mumbai has been taken deliberately. In a press conference in Mumbai on Thursday, Abhijit Deepke told why this happened? He asked that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP won only 9 out of 48 seats. The situation changed completely in the assembly elections held six months later. How did this change happen? It is in this context that we have decided to start the movement from Mumbai. Maharashtra also protects the throne of Delhi.
