6-lane expressway will be built in Bihar, great news for 8 districts!

Patna. The government has approved a big scheme to improve the road network in Bihar. A 6-lane greenfield expressway will be built between Buxar and Bhagalpur. The completion of this 336 kilometer long corridor is expected to speed up traffic between many districts and also boost business activities.

Cost of around Rs 3700 crore

This expressway will be developed as an access controlled corridor. The project is estimated to cost approximately Rs 3700 crore. It is planned to be developed through Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited under PPP model.

8 hours journey can become 4 hours

Presently it takes a long time to reach Bhagalpur from Buxar. After the completion of the new expressway, the travel time between the two cities is expected to reduce from about 8 hours to 4 hours. With six-lane roads and controlled entry systems, travel can become smoother and faster.

These districts will get benefit

This project is expected to provide better connectivity to the surrounding areas of Bihar including Buxar, Arwal, Jehanabad, Patna, Nalanda, Jamui, Munger and Bhagalpur. Mokama area is also likely to benefit from this corridor.

Road to Delhi-NCR will be easy

The proposed expressway is planned to be further connected to the major expressway networks of Uttar Pradesh. With this, road connectivity from Bihar to Delhi-NCR via Purvanchal, Agra-Lucknow and Yamuna Expressway can be further improved. There is also a possibility of connecting it with the link of Ganga Expressway in future.
