New Delhi, July 9. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tribute to the national heroes and immortal fighters of the freedom struggle on the 84th anniversary of the Quit India Movement. He said that the courage and sacrifice of the freedom fighters involved in the movement will always remain a source of inspiration for the countrymen.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Prime Minister Modi said that all those who participated in the historic Quit India Movement are remembered. The call to ‘Quit India’, given under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, infused new energy into the freedom struggle and demonstrated the unwavering resolve of Indians to free themselves from British rule.
Om Birla Pays Tribute to National Heroes
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also paid tribute to the freedom fighters on the anniversary of the Quit India Movement. He said that Mahatma Gandhi’s call to ‘Do or Die’ became the voice of courage and determination for millions of Indians during that period.
He said that countless known and unknown freedom fighters endured the tortures of prison, struggled, and sacrificed their lives for the country. Their struggle was not limited to political independence; rather, they wanted to build an India founded on values like truth, non-violence, democracy, equality, and patriotism.
