8th class student spoke fearlessly in front of DM, asked big questions about inflation and housing shortage

Lakhimpur Kheri: During the Tehsil Samadhan Diwas organized in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, a 13-year-old student approached the authorities with his complaint. The confidence and simplicity with which this child, studying in class 8, presented his family’s financial problems and domestic disputes, attracted the attention of the officials present there. The financial condition of the family is very weak.

Amitabh Gupta, a resident of Idgah locality, had reached Samadhan Diwas with an application on behalf of his mother. He told the officials that the financial condition of the family was very weak. His mother’s monthly income is around Rs 3,000, making it difficult to meet household expenses. The child said that in this era of inflation, meeting the daily needs of the family has become a challenge.

Amitabh told in his complaint that a part of his ancestral house has been locked by his aunt. He said that if that part is opened, his mother can earn some extra income by renting it out, which will improve the financial condition of the family.

Expressed concern about elder sister’s education

The child also raised the issue of his elder sister’s education. He told the officials that his sister has reached ninth grade, but now she is not getting free books and notebooks like before. In such a situation, his studies are getting affected due to financial constraints. After listening to the child, the District Magistrate took the matter seriously and instructed the police officers present at the spot to immediately investigate. During this, a police officer assured the child that he would go to his house and look into the entire matter. On this Amitabh immediately replied, "Sir, I don’t want to see it… just get it done."

Administration assured action

All the officers and employees present there smiled at this innocent but outspoken reaction of the child. However, along with this the administration also assured of prompt action in the matter. Following the instructions of the District Magistrate, the police team was sent to the concerned place so that the dispute related to the house could be investigated and resolved. Along with this, the process of providing necessary help on aspects related to the financial condition of the family and the education of the student was also started. After this incident, people on social media are praising the child’s courage, intelligence and confidence.
