9-1-1 is gearing up for Season 10, and the newly released trailer has fans worried about Angela Bassett’s Athena as another devastating natural disaster strikes.
Athena’s rescue mission takes a terrifying turn in the Season 10 trailer when she goes underground to help someone and ends up trapped herself.
As Athena struggles to escape, May (Corinne Massiah) reveals the extent of her concern, saying, “My mom crawled through some hole in the ground and I have been trying to call her and she’s not picking up.”
The stakes rise further when Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is alerted to a “river of lava” and tells her team they are facing an unprecedented crisis, with Los Angeles having “no protocol for a volcano.”
Maddie’s concern deepens later in the sneak peek as she wonders how they can help when “we cannot stop a volcano.”
The trailer also follows first responders Buck (Oliver Stark), Eddie (Ryan Guzman), Hen (Aisha Hinds), Chimney (Kenneth Choi) and Harry (Elijah M. Cooper) as they head into the field to assist trapped and injured civilians, only to face another challenge when the ground becomes unsafe to step on.
Amid the high-stakes rescues, Eddie shares a softer moment when he carries a dog to safety.
Fans reacted to the thrilling trailer online, with one saying, “They’ve had an earthquake, tsunami, and now volcano. This show is something else”
“If May is crying… I’m afraid for Ravi they wouldn’t hurt Athena again, so it must be him…” one fan speculated.
“I’ve been impatient waiting on this trailer, and it was well worth it!”
The upcoming 10th season drops on October 15 on Hulu.
