9th India International Water Week begins in New Delhi, Vice President to inaugurate

New Delhi, 20 September 2026: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the '9th India International Water Week-2026' in New Delhi on Tuesday. The theme of this five-day program is 'Climate-Resilient Water Management'.

Jal Shakti Ministry has said that Netherlands and Germany will participate in this international program as partner countries. Fourteen states will participate as partner states, while six central ministries and departments have also been invited as partners.

An international exhibition will also be organized from 22 to 25 September. It will showcase the latest technologies, products and solutions related to sustainable and environment-friendly water management.

During this period, from 22 to 24 September, the second International WASH Conference will also be held. In this, availability of drinking water, infrastructure for sanitation, methods of sanitation and public health will be discussed. Special emphasis will be given to accessible, affordable and sustainable solutions.

During the event, topics like collaboration for optimal use of water resources, role of technology and community in water security, climate-related risks, new financial models for water infrastructure and sustainable management of water resources will be discussed.
