Raipur. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, while reacting on the Union Budget 2026-27, said that this budget is a historic step towards the golden and developed future of India. Chief Minister Sai said that this is the first budget made in Dutva Bhavan, in which three major duties – economic development and employment growth, fulfillment of public expectations and ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ have been kept in mind, keeping in mind the overall development of the country and the welfare of every citizen. He said that this budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will prove to be a milestone for the upliftment of the poor, farmers, youth, women, middle class and labor class. He said that states like Chhattisgarh will get direct benefits of this budget.
Strengthening agriculture and rural economy
Many important steps have been taken in the budget to increase the income of farmers and strengthen the rural economy. A plan has been made to increase agricultural productivity, encourage animal husbandry and dairy industry through AI and modern technology. Also, under the Mahatma Gandhi Gram Swaraj Initiative, new employment opportunities will be created for the villagers by promoting local industries and handicrafts.
New employment opportunities for youth
Chief Minister Sai said that in this budget, special emphasis has been laid on employment generation for the youth. New opportunities will be created in sectors like startups, MSME, manufacturing and tourism. Promoting tourism will give impetus to local economic development and the youth will get employment in their own area. Foreign travel and studies abroad will also be cheaper than before.
Historic initiative in health sector
Describing the budget as historic regarding the health sector, the Chief Minister said that a provision of Rs 10,000 crore has been made for the biopharma sector, due to which medicines for cancer, diabetes and other serious diseases will become cheaper. Five regional hubs will be established in the states for upgradation of district hospitals, establishment of emergency and trauma centers in every district, promotion of mental health and Ayurvedic medicine as well as medical tourism. This will improve the level of health services in the entire country including Chhattisgarh and will also open new employment opportunities.
New direction for women empowerment-
Arrangements have been made to connect women with credit-linked self-employment, entrepreneurship and local markets through the expansion of Lakhpati Didi Yojana. Apart from this, the announcement of construction of hostels for girls in every district will help them in higher education.
Promotion of industry, education and sports-
To strengthen the country’s economy, 7 high-speed rail corridors, 20 new waterways, large textile parks and mineral corridors in 4 states have been announced. Investment of Rs 40 thousand crore for Semiconductor Mission will give new impetus to industrial development and employment. At the same time, Khelo India Mission and reforms in the education sector will provide better opportunities to children and youth.
Tax reforms and relief to the general public-
The income tax process has been simplified and easy arrangements have been made for small taxpayers. Many everyday items including medicines, clothes, shoes, mobiles, EV batteries, solar equipment, biogas-CNG will become cheaper, which will provide direct relief to the general public.
The Chief Minister said that the Union Budget 2026-27 further strengthens the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas and Sabka Vishwas’. This budget will ensure inclusive development in the entire country including Chhattisgarh. On behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, he expressed heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for this historic, developmental and public welfare budget.
