Jaya Bachchan refuses to grasp ‘paparazzi world’ despite prominent background: Here’s why

Jaya Bachchan shares a bittersweet relationship with the paparazzi despite coming from a prominent film family.

Speaking exclusively on the My friend podcast, Bollywood paparazzo Manav Manglani opened up about the Bachchan family’s interactions with photographers.

He noted that while all members have successfully adapted to the changing media landscape, Jaya has always refrained from engaging with this medium.

Manglani argued, “Abhishek knows the kind of medium we come from. Aishwarya is very close, so she knows the paps. Bachchanji also knows us inside out, but he is not that interactive with the paps. He hardly interacts, but Abhishek and Aishwarya do. Jayaji has not been able to grasp this medium to date.

“She is stuck in the traditional space where there are newspapers, journalists, etc. So, she doesn’t understand the paparazzi world. Sometimes it comes as a shock for her to see so many people shooting with their mobile phones.”

In addition, the paparazzo highlighted that the veteran actress doesn’t allow herself to be photographed in contrast to other members of the Bachchan family.

This comes on the heels of Jaya’s heated remarks about the paparazzi, where she slammed photographers for clicking her photos without consent.
