PM Modi worshiped at Maa Daat Kali temple before inauguration
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon reaching Uttarakhand on Tuesday, offered prayers at the Jai Maa Daat Kali temple in Dehradun. He arrived here to inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed by children dressed in traditional attire, who recited Durga Devi Stotram. Prime Minister Modi also interacted with other devotees present in the temple.
Earlier, the Prime Minister inspected the Wildlife Corridor on the elevated section of the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor in Saharanpur.
During this, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were also present.
An exhibition showcasing the construction process of the wildlife corridor was presented and officials briefed the Prime Minister on the project.
Prime Minister Modi also conducted a road show along the wildlife corridor. A large number of people gathered on the roadside and looked excited to get a glimpse of the Prime Minister while the Prime Minister also waved to them.
People held the tricolor in their hands and raised slogans like “Modi, Modi”, “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Jai Shri Ram” and showered flowers on them.
Many people dressed in traditional costumes also performed folk dances. After this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor in a public program in Dehradun and address a public meeting.
The 213 km long six-lane, access-controlled Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor has been developed at a cost of over Rs 12,000 crore.
This corridor passes through Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and will reduce the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from the present six hours to about two and a half hours.
The project includes 10 interchanges, three railway over bridges, four major bridges and 12 way-side facilities, which will ensure high-speed connectivity.
Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) has also been installed in the corridor, which will provide a more safe and efficient travel experience to the passengers.
Keeping in mind the environmental sensitivity, rich biodiversity and wildlife, this corridor has been designed to reduce human-wildlife conflict to a great extent.
Many special provisions have been made in this project to ensure unhindered movement of wildlife. These include the 12 km long Wildlife Elevated Corridor, which is one of the longest corridors in Asia.
Apart from this, it also includes eight animal passes, two elephant underpasses of 200 meters each and a 370 meter long tunnel near Dat Kali temple.
The Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor will play an important role in strengthening regional economic growth as it will enhance connectivity between major tourism and economic hubs and open up new opportunities for trade and development.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the project reflects Prime Minister Modi’s vision of combining high-speed connectivity, environmental sustainability and improving the quality of life of citizens.
