Severe heat wave in Delhi and rain in 10 states: Meteorological Department’s warning
The weather patterns are changing rapidly across the country. On one hand, Delhi and the plains of North India are in the grip of scorching heat, while on the other hand, an alert has been issued for snowfall in the mountains and rain in many states. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in the capital Delhi can go up to 39 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, while the minimum temperature is expected to be 20 degrees. The sky will remain completely clear in Delhi for the coming one week and the strong sunlight will bother people. During this period, the temperature may increase by up to 2 degrees, which will further increase the heat wave.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in northeastern states like Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh between April 15 and 18. During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour. At the same time, snowfall and rain will continue in the hilly areas of the north-west, especially Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. There are chances of light rain in Punjab and Haryana also on April 17 and 18. Rain warning has also been issued in Karnataka in South India and Odisha and West Bengal in the East. The Meteorological Department says that the temperature will continue to rise across the country, due to which the heat will become more intense in the coming days.
