Huawei Pura X Max Set for April 20 Launch
New Delhi, April 15 (Read): Huawei is set to launch its upcoming wide foldable smartphone, Huawei Pura X Max, on April 20, positioning it as a strong competitor to devices from Apple and Samsung.

Ahead of the launch, the device has generated significant attention due to its unique design. Unlike conventional foldable smartphones that offer a vertically elongated display, the Pura X Max features a horizontally wide folding design. This makes it one of the first smartphones to adopt such a form factor, offering a broader screen experience when unfolded.
The company has already revealed the phone’s design and key specifications on its official platform, showcasing multiple variants. The device appears noticeably wider, drawing comparisons to the iPad Mini in terms of its form factor. While most foldable smartphones expand into a tablet-like vertical display, this model focuses on width, offering a different viewing experience.
The wide display is expected to enhance content consumption, making video viewing and multitasking more immersive. However, the broader design may pose challenges in terms of handling and grip for some users.
In terms of design, the smartphone is seen featuring a triple camera setup. It will be available in multiple colour options, including black, blue, orange, silver, and purple.
The foldable smartphone segment remains relatively niche, with limited models currently available. Companies like Huawei and Samsung have been actively expanding their presence in this category, while Apple is also expected to enter the foldable market in the near future.
With increasing competition across all smartphone segments—from budget to flagship—the launch of the Pura X Max is expected to intensify the race in the foldable space. Meanwhile, Samsung is also preparing to introduce another foldable device, further heating up competition in this emerging category.
