Robbery of Rs 7 lakh at gunpoint in Sampark Kranti Express, miscreants fled after firing

A sensational incident of robbery in broad daylight in a moving train has raised questions on the safety of passengers. The miscreants took two passengers at gunpoint and looted cash worth Rs 7 lakh and then jumped from the train, firing in the air and escaped. After the incident, there is panic in the railway and police departments.

Incident happened in Sampark Kranti Express

According to the information, Mandeep Singh, resident of Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, does business of auto spare parts. Hrithik Mandal and Saheb Singh work as employees there. On Wednesday morning, both the employees boarded the Sampark Kranti Express to go to Delhi with around Rs 7 lakh in cash from the shop. Their purpose is said to be to make business related payments.

When the train reached near Bilaspur, three unknown miscreants suddenly entered the compartment. The miscreants captured both the employees at gunpoint and snatched the bag full of money. During this, there was chaos among the passengers, but due to fear of weapons no one could muster the courage to protest.

After committing the robbery, the accused miscreants fired in the air to spread terror and then took advantage of the slow speed of the train and escaped by jumping down. The incident happened so fast that no one had a chance to recover.

GRP teams active

Immediately after the incident, the victim employees informed their boss Mandeep Singh over phone and the police was also informed. As soon as the information was received, teams of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRP became active and police from Rudrapur and Rampur reached the spot.

The police inspected the incident site along with the victims and conducted a search operation in the surrounding area. Combing was also done in the forests, but till now no clue of the accused has been found. The police is busy scanning the surrounding CCTV footage and identifying the suspects.

This incident has raised serious concerns regarding the safety of passengers traveling in the train. At present the police is investigating the matter and the search for the miscreants has been intensified.
