New members including Nitin Naveen took oath in Rajya Sabha, paid tribute to Asha Bhosle

New Delhi. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Naveen and other newly elected members took oath in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, the first day of the special three-day meeting of Parliament.

Rajya Sabha paid tribute to former House member Mohsina Kidwai and playback singer Asha Bhosle. After this, the proceedings of Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 11 am on 17 April. In the three-day meeting, the discussion on the Constitution Amendment Bill and two other bills paving the way for women’s reservation will begin in the Rajya Sabha tomorrow. Today it is being discussed in the Lok Sabha and tomorrow it will be passed by the House.

In the Rajya Sabha, Chairman CP Radhakrishnan nominated Terash Gowala (BJP Assam), Jogen Mohan (BJP Assam), Sujit Kumar (BJP Odisha), Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi (Congress Telangana), Vem Narendra Reddy (Congress Telangana), Vinod Kumar Tawde (BJP Maharashtra), Anurag Sharma (Congress Himachal Pradesh), Sanjay Bhatia (BJP Haryana), Pramod Boro (UPP (L) Assam), Karamveer Singh Buddhist. (Congress Haryana), Phulo Devi Netam (Congress Chhattisgarh), Lakshmi Verma (BJP Chhattisgarh), Shivesh Kumar (BJP Bihar), Ramnath Thakur (JD(U) Bihar) and Upendra Kushwaha (RLM Bihar) were sworn in.

The Deputy Chairman congratulated all the new members. Nitin Naveen said on the occasion, today I am inaugurating a new chapter of national service by taking oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament. This is a moment of great pride for me. I pledge that by vocally raising the voice of Bihar in the House, I will continue to work with full dedication and dedication to achieve the goal of ‘Developed India’ and fulfill the aspirations of the people.
