Who is 21 year old Krish Bhagat? Joined Mumbai Indians team as replacement

Mumbai Indians have made a major change in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 by including 21-year-old Punjab all-rounder Krish Bhagat in their team. Bhagat has been included in the team as a replacement for Atharva Ankolekar. Ankolekar is out of IPL due to some unknown injury due to which Mumbai was forced to take this decision.

Mumbai-based left-arm spin all-rounder Ankolekar has represented India at the Under-19 level. In this year’s auction, Mumbai Indians bought him at a base price of Rs 30 lakh but due to injury he did not get a chance to play a single match and now his IPL campaign has also ended without playing.

Meanwhile, right-handed batsman and right-arm fast bowler Bhagat has played seven first-class and nine List-A matches for Punjab. Bhagat will join the MI team at a base price of Rs 30 lakh. However, it will be interesting to see whether Mumbai Indians gives Bhagat a chance in the playing eleven in the upcoming matches because we have seen a pattern that after a long time, teams play young players in a few matches and it will be interesting to see what happens with Bhagat.

At the same time, if we talk about Mumbai Indians, then IPL 2026 is going to be no less than a nightmare for the team. Mumbai team is currently at 9th position in the points table with 1 win and 3 losses in 4 matches and now they have to face Punjab Kings today. If the team captained by Hardik Pandya loses this match too, then it may be difficult for them to return to the tournament.
