Delhi Airport: SpiceJet plane collides with Akasa Air while taxiing, all passengers safe

Delhi Airport: There was an accident on the ground with a B737-700 aircraft of SpiceJet at Delhi Airport on Thursday. It collided with an Akas Air flight while taxiing.

According to a SpiceJet spokesperson, the right wing of the SpiceJet aircraft has been damaged in this incident. At the same time, the left hand horizontal stabilizer of the other aircraft has also been damaged. After the incident, this SpiceJet plane has been grounded in Delhi itself. At present it is not being used for flying.

Akasa Airlines said- Our plane was parked in the parking area

Akasa Airlines spokesperson said that Akasa Air flight QP 1406 going from Delhi to Hyderabad had to return to the bay (parking area) on 16 April 2026. According to initial information, Akasa’s plane was parked when the plane of another airline collided with it. All passengers and crew have been evacuated safely. The ground team is making alternative arrangements to send the passengers to Hyderabad as soon as possible.
