Neeraj Chopra made sensational allegations against the coach, complained to the government
New Delhi: In the world of athletics, in the last few years, javelin throw has given a new identity to India and has brought success to the country. The biggest role in this has been played by veteran thrower and former Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra. Along with Neeraj, Sumit Antil has also made Javelin popular in India by winning gold medal twice in a row in Paralympics. But now these two veterans have created a stir by making sensational allegations against an Indian javelin coach. Some other javelin stars including Neeraj and Sumit have accused coach Naval Singh of mental harassment and use of foul language.
abusive language under the influence of alcohol
This shocking revelation has been made in a report of ‘The Bridge’. According to this report, a written complaint has been given to the Sports Authority of India on behalf of many players including two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj and current Paralympic champion Sumit Antil and alleging that Naval Singh is continuously harassing them. It has been alleged in this complaint that Naval Singh, under the influence of alcohol, sends recordings of abusing them to all of them. In this, he not only abuses the players but also abuses their family members.
The main complainant in this entire matter is Sumit Last, who had raised this matter with SAI and Paralympic Committee just a few days ago. But when the situation did not change even after this, he gave a written complaint on April 10, in which he made serious allegations against Naval Singh. In his complaint, Sumit wrote that he does not like to be involved in any kind of controversy but he could not ignore the repeated incidents, hence he has filed the complaint. The accused coach is currently training rising javelin star Sachin Yadav.
Neeraj demanded strict action
In the same complaint, India’s superstar javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra also supported Sumit’s allegations. Demanding strict action against the accused coach in this case, Neeraj wrote that whatever statements and abuses Naval Singh has made are not only inappropriate but also completely shameful. Neeraj also wrote that use of abusive language towards him, his family and his fellow players is not only unprofessional behavior but also against etiquette.
