MSRTC : Good news for ST commuters!! Free toilets and 30 rupees tea and breakfast will be available
MSRTC | The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (ST) service, which has become the lifeline for the common people of Maharashtra, is still the support of lakhs of commuters. Even today everyone feels this bus is their right. This Lal Pari runs from every corner of Maharashtra in the very light and guarantees a safe journey to the passengers. Every day millions of passengers use this service to travel for their work, education or personal reasons. Now for these commuters, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has made several big announcements today, which will make ST travel safer, more comfortable and less expensive from now on.
According to Pratap Sarnaik’s announcement, toilets at all bus stations in the state will be made available free of cost to passengers from June 1. That means passengers can use them for free. This decision has been taken considering the health and hygiene of the passengers. Until now, many places used to charge for toilets, which caused difficulties for poor and rural travelers. Now that this service has been made free, the passengers will get great relief. This decision is considered very important especially for women, senior citizens and passengers traveling long distances.
Also, it has now been made mandatory to provide tea and breakfast to passengers for Rs 30 in canteens at bus stations. Pratap Sarnaik took this important decision in the background of cases of deliberately taking extra money from passengers while having breakfast at ST station. A clear instruction has also been given that if this rule is not followed at any bus station, strict action will be taken against the canteens concerned. MSRTC
Meanwhile, to strengthen the ST Corporation, the government is going to add 8 thousand new buses to the fleet in a phased manner. This will replace old buses with new, safer and more comfortable buses. The existing shortage of buses in rural areas will be reduced and passengers will be served more regularly and on time.
