Which oil tankers were targeted?
According to sources, two large Indian crude oil tankers named Jag Arnav and Sanmar Herald were fired upon by the Iranian Navy north of Oman. These ships were coming to India carrying millions of barrels of oil from Iraq. After the firing, both the ships had to return from the Strait of Hormuz. Indian officials are currently trying to find out why the firing was done.

The Indian Navy has also started investigating the incident. At present there is no Indian warship present in the Strait of Hormuz, but two Indian destroyers, a frigate and a tanker are deployed in the Gulf of Oman.
