PBKS vs SRH: Priyansh-Connolly made Lucknow helpless, created a series of records

The world once again saw the horror of the batting of Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2026. In the match played against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Mullanpur Stadium, Chandigarh, the pair of Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly created such havoc that a series of records were created. Together, these two batsmen hit fours and sixes in every corner of the ground and completely destroyed the bowling attack of Lucknow.

The start of the match was not good for Punjab and opener Prabhsimran Singh returned to the pavilion without opening his account. What happened after this created history. Priyansh Arya missed out on a century by scoring 93 runs in just 37 balls, while Cooper Connolly made an important contribution of 87 runs in 46 balls. The aggressive batting of both of them took Punjab to a huge score.

Priyansh-Connolly made a series of records

  • After Prabhasimran’s early dismissal, Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly made a historic partnership of 182 runs for the second wicket. This is the third biggest partnership ever in the history of Punjab Kings. Earlier in the year 2011, Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh made a partnership of 206 runs and only the pair of Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul (183 runs) has been ahead of them.
  • A total of 16 sixes and 12 fours were hit in this explosive partnership. Both of them added 182 runs in just 80 balls and achieved an excellent run rate of 13.65. This ranks fourth among the fastest 100+ partnerships of PBKS.
  • The series of records did not stop here. In the 12th over of the innings, Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly together scored 32 runs on the balls of Aiden Markram. In this, Connolly hit three sixes, while Priyansh hit 2 skyscraper sixes. One ball was wide and one was a single run. This proved to be the most expensive over in the IPL history of Lucknow Super Giants.

Lucknow gave life to Priyansh and Connolly

This match was like a nightmare for Lucknow Super Giants. The team not only performed poorly in its bowling, but also gave many lives to the Punjab batsmen through its fielding. Mohsin Khan dropped the catch of Cooper Connolly in the second over of the match itself. At that time Connolly was batting on 5 runs. After this, in the 10th over, Prince Yadav missed an easy opportunity to dismiss Priyansh Arya, who was playing on 64 runs at that time. These two big mistakes completely changed the course of the match, and Punjab’s batsmen took full advantage of it, hitting a total of 16 sixes.
