Subramanya Swamy Temple of Tiruchendur, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh marked his attendance, said- ‘My mind is blessed with divine energy’
Tamil Nadu, 20 April. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday offered prayers at the Subramanya Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur, Tamil Nadu. Rajnath Singh said that he felt blessed to experience the divine energy of the ancient temple. Rajnath Singh wrote on social media, “Prayed at the sacred Sri Subramanya Swamy temple located in Tiruchendur, Tamil Nadu. Feeling blessed to experience the divine energy of this temple.” Subramanya Swamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan (son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati).
This temple is located at Tiruchendur in Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu. It is one of the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan and the only temple situated on the beach. The other five temples are located on the mountains. The temple faces the Bay of Bengal and is surrounded by the waves of the Gulf of Mannar. Earlier on April 19, Rajnath Singh had reiterated the central government’s resolve to provide 33 percent reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies. However, a few days ago the reservation related bill was defeated in the Lok Sabha. Addressing an election rally in Tamil Nadu, the Defense Minister said that DMK, Congress, Trinamool Congress and Communist parties did not allow the 33 per cent women’s reservation bill to be passed in Parliament.
“I want to assure you on behalf of the government and based on the promise taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that as soon as we get an opportunity in Parliament, we will provide quota for women,” Rajnath Singh said in Vasudevanallur assembly constituency. The Defense Minister has joined other star campaigners of the BJP to strengthen the party’s campaign in the assembly elections to be held in the state on April 23. Rajnath Singh is leading the NDA’s election campaign in southern Tamil Nadu.
The Defense Minister had a jam-packed schedule on Sunday, which included speeches at Radhapuram constituency in Tirunelveli district, Puliyangudi in Tenkasi district and a road show at Panagudi, about 400 meters away from the main site. Several prominent leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister Piyush Goyal have participated in the NDA’s election campaign and mobilized support for the alliance’s candidates in recent days.
