That most ruthless face of Bollywood, seeing the cruelty in whose eyes, not only the heroes, but even the audience sitting in the theater would start sweating; Could you recognize?

New Delhi. In the history of Hindi cinema, the role of villains has always been the lifeblood of the story, but there have been some artists who have taken this image to a different height. One of those names is that of Rami Reddy, whose hidden fear in his eyes and calm but effective dialogue delivery gave him a different identity among the audience. He was among those selected artists whose mere presence created an atmosphere of fear on the screen.

Rami Reddy, working in about 250 films, left such an impact with his acting that his face became synonymous with villainy in the films of the 90s. His biggest specialty was that he was successful in scaring the audience even without any loud voice or exaggerated expressions. His red eyes, shaved head and cold voice made his characters even more dangerous. Whenever he appeared on screen, the audience felt that a new twist was about to take place in the story.

His style of delivering dialogues was very different. He used to speak dialogues in a flat voice without any ups and downs, which sounded very scary. The kind of terror he created in characters like Colonel Shikara is still fresh in the minds of the audience. His spoken dialogues were not just words, but they had an impact that was remembered for a long time. This was the reason why his voice and way of speaking became his identity.

Before coming into films, Rami Reddy’s journey was in a completely different direction. He studied journalism and also worked in a newspaper, but his inclination towards acting drew him towards the film world. Starting his career with Telugu cinema, he very soon made his own identity. His dialogues in a movie made him popular overnight and after that there was no looking back. In Hindi films too, he created a strong place among the audience by repeating his same character.

After reaching the pinnacle of his career, a difficult phase also came in his life, when he had to face serious illness. Gradually his health deteriorated and its effect became clearly visible on his body. The artist who was once a symbol of strength and fear on screen, was seen battling illness in real life. Despite this, he did not let his will weaken and continued to fight till the end.

  • Ultimately he said goodbye to this world at the age of 52. His departure was a big loss for the film industry, but his acting is still alive in the memories of the audience. Rami Reddy proved that to become a villain, it is not just voice or violence, but a strong personality and impressive look.
