Death in the middle of the night! The sailor of the Iranian ship that was attacked by the US in the Indian Ocean shared a terrible experience
A US submarine attacked the Iranian warship Irish Dena in the Indian Ocean near Sri Lanka amid the Middle East war. More than a hundred Iranian soldiers and sailors died in that incident. Hamed Momeneh, a sailor on the ‘cursed ship’ somehow survived. In a recent interview, he claimed that the US carried out the attack to drown the soldiers and sailors on the ship in violation of international law. Even before the attack no warning was sent as per rules.
Hamed said, “The attack was carried out at 3:30 past midnight in violation of international law. We were not even on the battlefield and no warning was given. When the first torpedo hit, everyone was on duty and alert. There were 104 sailors on board. Luckily no one was killed in the first hit.” He added, “If only they wanted to damage the ship, they would have attacked the other side. But they wanted to kill the sailors. After that, we didn’t leave the ship until the last minute. The Irish debt was to us the soil of Iran.”
Incidentally, the US submarine attacked the ‘Iris Dena’ 40 nautical miles from the coast of Sri Lanka. Sailors sent messages while drowning. That’s how the Sri Lankan Navy came to the rescue. More than a hundred sailors on board died in this incident. The ship came to Bangopasgar to participate in a joint exercise with the Indian Navy. Later it was destined for Visakhapatnam. Then he left for Iran. It was then that a US submarine attacked an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean.
