‘The mother who gave birth to…’, why did Akhilesh Yadav get angry on the statement of Lucknow Mayor?
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Uttar Pradesh had taken out a Janakrosh Padyatra in the state capital Lucknow on Tuesday. Before this march, BJP leaders also gave speeches. Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, while taking on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, had said something due to which there has now been an uproar. Samajwadi Party workers are expressing their displeasure in Lucknow and Akhilesh Yadav himself has posted on social media saying that you will regret sitting alone, this is enough. Earlier, Sushma Kharkwal had said that these leaders have insulted the mother who gave birth to them.
Due to this statement of Sushma Kharkwal, some SP workers reached outside her house on Wednesday morning. These workers hit the nameplate of Sushma Kharkwal’s house with slippers and tried to make marks on it with coal. Two-three workers also raised slogans outside Sushma’s house.
What did Sushma Kharkwal say?
While addressing the public protest march on Tuesday, he had said, ‘India is the mother of a democracy. Women have been respected in the country for thousands of years, but the way the opposition has insulted women today is a matter of extreme condemnation. In our country rivers are also called mother. I want to tell Rahul Gandhi ji and Akhilesh Yadav ji that you have insulted the mother who gave birth to you and who is your first teacher. When you were born, you have insulted the sister who taught you to walk by holding her finger.

What clarification is Sushma Kharkwal giving?
Regarding her statement, Sushma Kharkwal has said, ‘You must have heard my speech. I had said that this earth is our mother. We are the people of that country who call the earth, rivers and Ganga as mother. I had said that Honorable Akhilesh ji, Honorable Rahul ji, you represent half the population, your relationship is that of mother, sister and daughter. I had said that among half the population, you opposed the mother who gave birth to you. Opposed that woman. You opposed the sister who taught you to walk by holding your finger. You insulted the daughter who relieves your tension and fatigue. You insulted every relationship. This country is our mother. We will not tolerate it if Rahul Gandhi ji insults his country i.e. his mother by going abroad.
Akhilesh Yadav got angry
Sharing the same statement of Sushma Kharkwal, Akhilesh Yadav has written on his This is just a request to you out of respect for women. If there are any elders or children in your house then ask them whether your highly condemnable and malicious statement is justified or not. Rest, you yourself are a woman. Who will call you morally right when the woman herself insults the woman?

He further said, ‘Insulting anyone’s mother is never acceptable in Indian society. Your political future would have been bright if you had not taken it so low on moral standards, today even your supporters are embarrassed. The people whom you are lowering your standards to impress are not related to anyone. You maintain your level and balance also. I do not expect any forgiveness from you nor does forgiveness hold any meaning after saying this. The regret you feel sitting alone is enough for us.
