Election campaign stopped in West Bengal-Tamil Nadu, voting on 23 April, tight security arrangements

Voting is to be held on 152 assembly seats in West Bengal in the first phase, while voting is to be held for all 234 seats in Tamil Nadu. In West Bengal, this time elections are to be conducted in two phases. Voting is to be held on 152 seats in the first phase. A total of 1,478 candidates are trying their luck in this phase. At the same time, three crore 60 lakh 77 thousand 171 voters will decide the fate of the candidates. Among these voters, 1 crore 75 lakh 77 thousand 210 women will use their votes. Amidst the atmosphere created regarding reservation, this time the role of women is being considered very important in West Bengal.

In Bengal, where voting is to be held in the first phase, eight districts of North Bengal, three of South Bengal and five districts of Jangalmahal region are included. These include 22 of Murshidabad, 9 of Cooch Behar, 7 of Jalpaiguri, 5 of Alipurduar, 1 of Kalimpong, 5 of Darjeeling, 9 of North Dinajpur, 6 of South Dinajpur, 12 of Malda, 11 of Birbhum, West These include 9 seats of Bardhaman, 16 of Purba Medinipur, 15 of West Medinipur, 4 of Jhargram, 9 of Purulia and 12 of Bankura.

Elections for all the seats in the state of Tamil Nadu are to be conducted in a single phase. Voting is to be held on all 234 seats on 23 April itself. This time 4,023 candidates are in the fray in Tamil Nadu. A total of 5.73 crore voters will write the fate of the candidates by using their votes in the elections.
