Fear of many people being burnt alive in a horrific accident, three vehicles in the grip of fire
Mirzapur. A horrific road accident took place on Mirzapur-Rewa National Highway in Drummondganj police station area on Wednesday night, in which many people are feared to be burnt alive.
There was chaos in the area after the accident. It was told that due to brake failure of the truck carrying gram, it went out of control and hit the Bolero which was coming down the slope.
After the collision, Bolero collided with the ballast laden trailer moving ahead. After the accident, Bolero, trailer and a Swift Dezire car caught fire, due to which the vehicles started burning.
According to eyewitnesses, there is a possibility of 8-9 people traveling in the Bolero and other passengers being burnt alive. However, the number of dead has not been officially confirmed. The truck driver was seriously injured in the accident and has been sent to the hospital.
Police and fire brigade reached the spot after getting information and brought the fire under control. Due to the intensity of the fire, rescue operations became very difficult. Drummondganj police station incharge Bharat Suman said that prima facie the accident occurred due to brake failure of the truck.
The fire has been brought under control and efforts are on to rescue people trapped in the vehicles. The number of deaths is being confirmed and necessary legal action is being taken in the matter.
CM took cognizance
Taking cognizance of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. Besides, officials have been instructed to speed up the relief and rescue work and provide proper treatment to the injured.
