IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals won by scoring 159 runs, LSG’s fourth consecutive defeat
The 32nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 was played on Wednesday (22 April) between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). In this match held at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, RR won by 40 runs. RR, when invited to bat first, scored 159/6 and then bowled out LSG for 119 runs in 18 overs. After registering a big win in this low-scoring match, RR has occupied the second position in the points table.
Excellent all-round performance by Jadeja
At one time RR team had lost 5 wickets for 77 runs. Prominent batsmen like Yashasvi Jaiswal (22), Vaibhav Suryavanshi (8), Dhruv Jurel (0), captain Ryan Parag (20) and Shimron Hetmyer (22) had returned to the pavilion. From here Ravindra Jadeja along with Donovan Ferreira (20) took the team beyond 100. However, Ferreira also soon left. RR’s score was 110/6. In such a situation, the team fielded Shubham Dubey as impact sub, which proved to be a master stroke.

Jadeja and Shubham Dubey made an unbeaten 49-run partnership in 25 balls for the seventh wicket, taking RR to a respectable score. Jadeja, who came at number six, scored unbeaten 43 runs in 29 balls with the help of 2 fours and 1 six. After this he also took the big wicket of Nicholas Pooran. Shubham Dubey scored unbeaten 19 runs hitting 3 fours in 11 balls. For LSG, Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav and Mohsin Khan bowled well and took 2 wickets each. However, his hard work went in vain.

LSG’s bad batting continues
LSG did not have a good start while chasing the target. By the time he reached 11 runs, he lost the wickets of Ayush Badoni (0), captain Rishabh Pant (0) and Aiden Markram (0). Mitchell Marsh held one end and played a half-century but his efforts went in vain due to lack of adequate support from the other end. Marsh scored 55 runs in 41 balls. Nicholas Pooran once again proved to be a flop. He played a slow innings of 22 runs in 25 balls. Jofra Archer took 3 wickets for 20 runs for RR. Nandra Burger and Brijesh Sharma took 2-2 wickets. Jadeja and Ravi Bishnoi got 1 success each.
