Ratlam: Naib Tehsildar suspended in Patwari death case, demand for FIR

Ratlam. The matter is continuously gaining momentum after the death under suspicious circumstances of Patwari Ravi Shankar Kharadi, posted in Alot of Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh.

Amid growing protests, Collector Misha Singh has suspended Naib Tehsildar Savita Rathore. Despite this, the family members and the Patwari union are adamant on the demand of registering an FIR against the concerned officer.

On Wednesday morning, the family members made it clear that until an FIR is registered in the case, they will not conduct the post-mortem. With this demand, the family members sat on strike in the Medical College premises.

Various organizations and public representatives including Sailana MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar were also present on the spot in his support. To handle the situation, Additional Collector Dr. Shalini Srivastava and SDM Archie Harit reached the spot and communicated with the family members. The officials sat on the ground and gave advice, but the family members remained firm on their demand.

Patwari Sangh officials allege that the deceased was being continuously pressurized to work and was not even given leave. Family members have also made similar allegations.

The union has demanded registration of a case under serious sections in the matter. Police say that at present a case has been established and investigation has been started. According to officials, further action will be taken keeping in mind all aspects of the investigation.

Earlier, the family members and the Patwari remained in the police station till late Tuesday night and kept demanding immediate action, considering the alleged letter written by the deceased as important evidence. Ravi Shankar Kharadi is survived by his wife, a young daughter and other members. The family is in mourning after the incident and there is a sensitive atmosphere in the entire area.
