Actor Vijay Sethupathi appealed to the public, said- My best wishes to the youth, this is the most important responsibility.
New Delhi. Vijay Sethupathi exercised his franchise in Chennai during the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on Thursday. He cast his vote at a polling booth in Kilpauk of Anna Nagar Assembly Constituency No. 21 and stressed the importance of civic responsibility. He said that everyone should vote, it is our most important responsibility and my best wishes to the youth. In the same sequence, Jeeva cast her vote after standing in the queue for almost two hours at the polling booth of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha located in T. Nagar. He called upon the youth to actively participate in the democratic process and come forward in politics.

Actor-producer VTV Ganesh, while voting at the Government Model Higher Secondary School in Nandanam, said that the youth must exercise their franchise. While voting, Mathew Varghese also showed his inked finger and said that voting is a fundamental duty and expressed hope of higher voting percentage this time. Meanwhile, several prominent personalities also exercised their franchise, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, TVK chief Vijay, DMK minister K N Nehru, superstar Rajinikanth and Dhruv Vikram.
Voting is taking place in a single phase for 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu. The main contest is believed to be between the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led alliance and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). DMK is in the election field on the basis of its welfare work, while the AIADMK-NDA alliance is trying to make a comeback.
