Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) during an election rally in Pursura in Hooghly district on Thursday in view of the West Bengal Assembly elections and appealed to the common people for change in the state. He said that the people of Bengal are upset with the current government and now want change.

Amit Shah, while attacking Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led TMC over infiltration and law and order, said that anger against Trinamool Congress is visible in every corner of the state. He claimed that this anger will be clearly visible in the upcoming elections.
Terming infiltration as a big issue, Shah said that there is a need to take strict steps to stop it. He alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has objections to removing the names of infiltrators from the voter list. He also assured that if BJP government is formed then every infiltrator will be identified and thrown out of the state.

‘Claim to end ‘Jungle Raj’
Accusing the TMC government of running ‘Jungle Raj’, Amit Shah said that the capture of farmers’ land and syndicate raj has affected the rights of the poor. He said that this situation will end in the upcoming elections and the people are ready to bring BJP to power.
Government cornered on farmers’ issue
The BJP leader alleged that the state government is not sensitive to the problems of farmers. Potato farmers are not getting fair prices and have suffered losses due to the ban on exports. If the BJP government is formed, it was promised to provide relief to farmers and help in exports.
Appeal to voters and assurance of security
The Home Minister said that some people are hesitant to vote due to fear. He appealed to the voters to cast their vote fearlessly and assured that there is no need to be afraid. He claimed that the huge voting percentage in the first phase of voting indicates that TMC will suffer a setback.
