Bengal Elections 2026: Amit Shah’s big claim after the first phase

After the first phase of voting in West Bengal, Amit Shah made a big claim and indicated the lead of BJP. He said the party can win more than 110 seats and the wave of change is clearly visible.

West Bengal Election 2026: After the bumper voting of the first phase, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a press conference in Kolkata and made a big claim regarding the election results. He said that it is clear from the initial feedback that the direction of change of power in the state has been decided and BJP is getting huge support, due to which the party’s position is expected to remain strong in the coming phases also.

BJP claims lead after first phase of voting

After the first phase of voting in West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed the party’s strong position in the press conference. He said that early indications are clear that voters have voted in favor of change and BJP is getting widespread support.

According to Amit Shah, in the first phase itself the public has indicated the change of power. He also said that the voters’ inclination is towards development and stability, due to which BJP’s position is likely to remain strong in the coming phases also.

Confidence of victory with seat figures

The Home Minister claimed that out of 152 seats in the first phase, BJP can win more than 110 seats. Describing this figure as an indication of the clear mandate of the public, he said that the party is moving towards a strong majority.

He also said that this support is the result of the ongoing development policies under the leadership of the Prime Minister. According to Shah, this election can prove to be not just a political change but a decision that will decide the future direction of the state.

Statement on violence-free elections and future leadership

At the press conference, Amit Shah praised the Election Commission, security forces and administration for peaceful voting. He said that after a long time, elections being held in Bengal without any death is a positive sign.

Along with this, while replying to the allegations of the opposition, he said that if BJP government is formed in the state, then the leadership will be local only. He clarified that the next Chief Minister will be a resident of Bengal and a person associated with the local culture, due to which the identity of the state will remain intact.
