BJP’s washing machine model will never succeed in Punjab: Gurmeet Singh

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab leader and MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that for the last 12 years, the BJP has been adopting the same model of strangulating democracy in the entire country.

What did Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer say?

He said that as soon as the elections come, BJP, fearing its defeat, starts intimidating the opposition leaders through ED and CBI or lures them into their party. Meet Hayer made it clear that Punjab is a land of principles and struggle, this ‘washing machine’ model of BJP will never be successful here.

While addressing a press conference on Friday, MP Meet Hayer gave an example and said that in Assam, Hemant Vishwa Sharma was raided by the CBI while he was in Congress, but he got clean as soon as he joined BJP. In Maharashtra, 70 cases were filed against Ajit Pawar in a single night and Amit Shah called him the most corrupt leader of the country, but as soon as he joined BJP, he was made Deputy CM.

He said that today the scene is the same inside the Parliament. People like Ravneet Bittu and Jyotiraditya Scindia, who were once Rahul Gandhi’s core team, are sitting on the front benches of the BJP, while the old dedicated workers of the BJP have been pushed to the back. The condition of Punjab BJP is such that in the BJP meetings there, less old BJP people and more Congress faces like Sunil Jakhar and Rana Sodhi are seen.

Meet Hayer expressed displeasure over Raghav Chaddha’s behavior

Expressing deep displeasure over the behavior of Raghav Chadha, Meet Hayer said that it is against the morality of the same party which gave national identity to a common youth and Arvind Kejriwal, it is against the morality of the same party to leave Raghav Chadha in the most difficult times. He said that when Kejriwal ji, Manish Sisodia ji and Sanjay Singh were in jail and the workers were getting lathicharged on the streets, then Raghav Chadha went abroad. This raises the suspicion that there was some nexus between him and BJP and Amit Shah.

He further said that even when Arvind Kejriwal ji came out of jail and the court gave him relief, Raghav Chadha did not even make a single tweet, which clearly shows that he is now following the instructions of BJP.

He described the recent raids on the houses of AAP leaders and Rajya Sabha MP Mittal and Minister Sanjeev Arora in Punjab as part of this series. Meet Hayer said that Amit Shah is constantly trying to break the party by intimidating AAP leaders.

He said that BJP is forgetting that the leaders and workers of Aam Aadmi Party are firm on principles. They tried their best in Delhi also, but our leaders did not bow down. Many offers were given to Satendra Jain and Manish Sisodia, but they agreed to go to jail but did not surrender before BJP.

Taking on Sunil Jakhar and Ravneet Bittu, MP Hayer said that they know the history of Punjab and the principles of Sikhs. Punjab is that community which knows how to fight a war even after eating dry leaves, but does not bow down.

He warned that the more BJP scares, the more it will suffer in Punjab. Punjabis who made 90% sacrifices are not afraid of jails and cases. This agenda of BJP can work in other states, but the nature of Punjab is different. Jakhar and Bittu are probably silent due to greed or fear of the chair, but in the times to come, BJP will have to bear the heavy brunt of this oppressive politics.
