Raghav Chaddha joins BJP, Nitin Naveen welcomes him with sweets

New Delhi: After leaving Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), three Rajya Sabha MPs including Raghav Chadha have now joined BJP. On Friday, the three leaders reached the BJP headquarters in Delhi and accepted membership of the party. BJP National President Nitin Naveen welcomed him warmly and congratulated everyone by feeding him sweets.

Welcome ceremony at BJP headquarters

Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal reached the BJP headquarters just hours after leaving the party. There Nitin Naveen met the three MPs and fed them sweets. During this time, BJP workers also warmly welcomed the new members.

Raghav Chadha said on this occasion that he will now serve the country with the help of BJP. He justified his decision to leave AAP and said that he wants to stay close to the people.

Seven AAP MPs merge with BJP

Raghav Chadha and Sandeep Pathak had announced on Friday that 7 out of 10 Rajya Sabha MPs of Aam Aadmi Party are joining BJP. Chadha said, “According to the Constitution, two-thirds of the total MPs of a party can merge with another party. We have submitted a letter in this regard to Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan and have submitted all the necessary documents.”

These MPs also left AAP

Other AAP Rajya Sabha members who joined BJP along with Raghav Chadha include:

Harbhajan Singh (former cricketer)
Rajendra Gupta
Vikram Sahni
Swati Maliwal

Aam Aadmi Party has suffered a big blow due to this big defection. Its effect can be seen especially in the politics of Punjab and Delhi.

Shock before Punjab Assembly elections

Let us tell you, this development has happened before the Punjab Assembly elections next year. Raghav Chadha was considered a leader who played an important role in AAP’s last victory. Now his joining BJP may change the political equation.

The three MPs were given a grand welcome by the BJP. Nitin Naveen said that these leaders are now part of the BJP family and will work in the interest of the country.
