AAP’s first reaction on the breakdown of 7 MPs came out
After the announcement of seven Rajya Sabha MPs of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) joining BJP, there has been a sharp reaction from the party. AAP’s media in-charge Anurag Dhanda strongly criticized this decision in a press conference. He said that the people of Punjab will never forgive those MPs who are deciding to join BJP.
What did Dhanda allege?
Dhanda alleged that this entire incident is part of a conspiracy to weaken the Bhagwant Mann government running in Punjab, which is well understood by the public. He further said that the AAP government in Punjab is doing good work and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is taking decisions in the interest of the people. At such a time, the opposition is trying to destabilize the government through ‘Operation Lotus’.
According to Dhanda, the fear of central agencies like ED and CBI is being shown to break the party MPs, which is a matter of serious concern for democracy. AAP also alleged that MPs are being forced to leave the party by creating an atmosphere of pressure and fear. The party says that the same people who earlier supported the laws against farmers are now claiming to be well-wishers of farmers, which is completely contradictory. He raised the question that how will the public trust such leaders.
AAP expressed confidence
AAP expressed confidence that the people of Punjab are watching this development carefully and will also respond to it when the time comes. The party said that whenever AAP has been betrayed before, the public has responded democratically and the same will happen this time too.
On the other hand, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha announced to leave the party and said that he is joining BJP along with two-thirds of AAP MPs. He claimed that this decision has been taken under the provisions of the Constitution. Taking aim at AAP, Chadha said that the party which he built with his blood and sweat has now deviated from its core principles and values.
Why did Raghav separate from AAP?
He said that for the last few years he had been feeling that he was in the wrong party. Now the party is working for personal interests instead of national interest. For this reason, he has decided to separate from AAP and choose a new political path, so that he can work closer to the people.
