Breaking his nearly two-decade long relationship with the Aam Aadmi Party, he expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and launched a scathing attack on party chief Arvind Kejriwal. This decision of Swati Maliwal has come at a time when the news of Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal joining BJP had come a day earlier. Raghav Chadha had claimed that four more MPs of the party may soon join BJP, in which the name of Swati Maliwal was also included. Now his claim has been confirmed.

Expressed confidence in PM Modi’s leadership

After joining BJP, Maliwal made it clear that his decision was not the result of any pressure, rather he had taken this step expressing confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said those who want to do “constructive politics” should join BJP. During this, Swati Maliwal made serious allegations against Arvind Kejriwal. She said, “I was with Kejriwal since 2006 and worked shoulder to shoulder in his every movement. But he got me beaten by a goon in his own house. When I raised my voice, I was intimidated and pressurized to withdraw the FIR.” Describing Kejriwal as “anti-women”, he said he was not given a single opportunity to speak in Parliament in the last two years.

praised the central government a lot

Maliwal also praised the central government and BJP leadership. He said that while on one hand Kejriwal’s identity is associated with “corruption and hooliganism”, on the other hand Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of the most popular leaders in the world. Describing campaigns like ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the Women’s Reservation Bill as historic steps, he said that the Modi government has taken important decisions for the development and security of the country. He also praised the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and said that the government has played a decisive role in dealing with major challenges like Naxalism in the country.
