IPL 2026: Jitesh Sharma’s words turned out to be correct… Vaibhav Suryavanshi got injured in the middle of the match

Before the start of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, a statement of Jitesh Sharma had gone quite viral. Jitesh Sharma, in a conversation with former South African cricketer AB de Villiers, had said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi is not a professional. RCB wicketkeeper batsman Jitesh had praised this young sensation of Rajasthan Royals but had also said that Vaibhav would never be able to become a professional. He eats ice cream at night.

Vaibhav had played for India-A under the captaincy of Jitesh during the Rising Stars Asia Cup last year. During that time, Jitesh had seen this young batsman closely. Jitesh had pointed out in his conversation with De Villiers that Vaibhav is not serious about fitness. In IPL 2026, on Saturday night (April 25), Jitesh’s words seemed to be proved right when Vaibhav walked out of the field after just 3 overs during Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)’s batting.

Vaibhav got injured

Vaibhav played a brilliant inning of 103 runs in 37 balls in the 36th match of the season in Jaipur, due to which Rajasthan Royals (RR) scored a huge score of 228 runs. After this, when RR team came out to field, Vaibhav felt uncomfortable only after 3 overs of play. Initially it seemed that the cramps might have been caused by heat. The physio took care of him but he was not able to walk properly. After this he was supported and taken out of the field. There has been no update on how serious Vaibhav’s injury is.

Vaibhav will have to improve his fitness

15 year old Vaibhav’s batting has always been discussed. People also pay attention to their fitness. He does not look as fit as players of his age. He plays long innings but is not that agile in the field. Vaibhav will have to improve his fitness to remain on top at the big level. Due to the Impact Player rule in IPL, he does not field in many matches but to give a new dimension to his career, he will have to be serious about fitness.
