Female passenger gives birth to twins on the platform at Subedarganj station

Bureau Prayagraj- An example of humanity and sensitivity was seen at Subedarganj railway station on Sunday morning, when a female passenger gave birth to twins on the platform itself. Due to the wisdom and promptness of Railway Protection Force and women staff, safe delivery was done, due to which both mother and child are healthy.

According to the information, female passenger Jyoti Kumari (wife of Ramesh Kumar, resident of Bhadohi), who was coming from New Delhi to Prayagraj by 03294 Down Patna Special train, suddenly started labor pain during the journey. As soon as the train reached platform number 6 of Subedarganj railway station at around 10:40 am on Sunday morning, the condition of the woman became critical.

The passengers present at the spot immediately informed the RPF. As soon as the information was received, Assistant Sub Inspector Rajesh Kumar Yadav showed promptness and informed his superiors and immediately started arranging for help.

Female constables and sanitation workers took charge. Seeing the delicateness of the situation, female constables Suman Yadav and Priyanka, along with other female sanitation workers, converted the platform into a temporary ‘delivery room’. With the help of other passengers, a safe environment was created by curtain and the woman was given successful delivery there. Jyoti Kumari gave birth to twins—a son and a daughter.

Medical team did first aid

As soon as information about the incident was received, nurse Shabina and the medical team from Central Railway Hospital Prayagraj reached the spot. He provided first aid to the mother and newborns and stabilized their condition.

Admitted to Dufferin Hospital

After this, with the help of ambulance, under the supervision of female constable Priyanka, the mother and children were admitted to Dufferin Hospital for better treatment, where everyone’s condition is said to be normal. Railway staff, RPF and women personnel are being praised all around for this commendable work. Passengers and locals said that timely assistance averted a major disaster and the railway staff set an excellent example of humanity.
