Seven From Odisha In Main Draws Of Bhubaneswar ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Meet
Bhubaneswar: Seven Odisha players will feature in the singles main draws of the weeklong J30 Bhubaneswar ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors 2026 at the Kalinga Stadium.
Aditya Bikram Acharya, Shreyan Patnaik, Suyash Patnaik and Ayush Pattnaik will feature in boys’ singles, while Shazfa Wania, Sanranchana Das and Sanvi Mohanty will compete in girls’ singles.
The tournament — organised by the Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) in association with Department of Sports & Youth Services, Odisha government, and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) — has attracted around 160 players from across India, as well as talents from Australia, the US, China and Nepal.
The qualifying events were held on Saturday and Sunday, while the main draws will commence on Monday.
The formal opening ceremony was held on Sunday, with DGP Crime Branch Vinayatosh Mishra being the chief guest. Among other dignitaries present were OTA president Asit Tripathy, OTA secretary Sanjeeb Panda, joint secretary and tournament director Sambit Patnaik, and ITF Supervisor Prabin Kumar Nayak.
The doubles finals will be held on May 1 and singles finals on May 2.
Om Patel and Aleena Farid, both Indians, are the top seeds in boys’ and girls’ singles, respectively.
The singles winners will earn 30 points, while doubles champions will pocket 25 points.
