Telangana Govt’s Historic Decision: Salaries of Ministers and MLAs to be cut by 50%

Telangana Ministers Salary : Hyderabad : Revanth Reddy government in Telangana has taken a big historic decision. A major and historic step has been taken for the welfare of senior citizens and retired employees of Telangana state. The government has decided to cut the salaries of all state ministers and MLAs by 50 percent.

The amount saved from this deduction will be used to pay the pension arrears of the retired employees pending for the last 10 years. The Cabinet led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has approved this proposal. The decision is widely applauded on social media, with people calling it an important step taken in public interest.

A 10-year wait and a burden of Rs 6,200 crore

The retired employees of Telangana have not received their dues for the last 10 years. Currently, the state has a pension arrears of approximately Rs 6,200 crore. The government has set a target of paying all these arrears in the next 100 days. This decision will bring great relief to thousands of senior citizens of the state and their families. The government says that now senior citizens will not need to come to the secretariat, as the money will be deposited directly into their accounts.

Establishment of Special Committee

To streamline the process of disbursement of pension arrears, the Telangana Government has constituted a special committee called ‘Revenue Resource Consolidation Committee’. This includes Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other senior ministers. The committee has been tasked with preparing a detailed plan to clear all dues within a specified period.

Targeting the previous Govt

With this decision, the Congress government has launched a strong attack on the previous BRS government. The government alleged that the previous government increased the financial burden of thousands of employees by depriving them of their benefits. The present government claims that it is now carrying out this responsibility with full devotion. However, it is not yet clear how long this wage cut will remain in effect.
