Weather changed in Rajasthan due to western disturbance, alert of storm and rain in 15 districts

Jaipur. Due to the effect of western disturbance active in Rajasthan, there has been a big change in the weather of the state. Since Tuesday morning, intermittent light rain occurred in many districts including Jaipur, Dausa, Alwar, while gram-sized hailstones also fell in Dausa. Today the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of storm and rain in 15 districts of the state.

Due to the changed weather, the temperature has dropped by five degrees Celsius in many cities, providing partial relief to the people from the scorching heat and heatwave.

The capital Jaipur remained cloudy since morning and drizzle continued. The effect of heat was somewhat reduced due to strong winds and clouds. The maximum temperature in Jaipur was measured at 40.9 degrees Celsius, which was 2.6 degrees less than the previous day. The minimum temperature also dropped by 3.7 degrees.

The weather changed in Dausa and Alwar also. There was rain and hailstorm in Dausa in the morning, while in Alwar there was dense cloud cover in the evening and light rain brought relief from the heat. The temperature in Alwar remained around 42 degrees Celsius, but due to clouds the heat reduced.

There was a significant drop in temperature in districts like Jaisalmer, Churu, Nagaur, Hanumangarh, Barmer, Pilani, Fatehpur and Dausa on Tuesday. Due to weakening of western winds and influence of eastern winds, the mercury reached below 40 degree Celsius in most of the cities. However, Phalodi remained the hottest city of the state.

The temperature in Udaipur also dropped by two degrees, but the Meteorological Department has predicted the heatwave to continue in south-western Rajasthan. The heat still persists in Kota, where the temperature was measured at 43.5 degrees Celsius. Due to extreme heat, an incident of fire in a scooter also came to light.

The temperature has also dropped in Sikar and Ajmer. The maximum temperature in Fatehpur in Sikar was 40.5 degrees Celsius, while in Ajmer the maximum temperature was 40.5 and the minimum was 24.5 degrees.

Monday’s temperature in Ajmer had broken the record of the last three years, but now the weather has softened a bit.

The maximum temperature in Jodhpur was measured at 41 degrees Celsius. Special arrangements have been made in hospitals and public places for relief from the scorching heat. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a possibility of thunder, storm with a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and light rain at some places in many parts of the state for the next three to four days.

The weather may continue to fluctuate with intense heat and heatwaves in the first week of May.

The people of the state have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions in view of the strong sunlight, hot winds and changing weather.
