Amidst the war, 2929 sailors returned safely to the country, Indian ships and crew are being closely monitored.

New Delhi. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said on Wednesday that India has so far recalled a total of 2929 sailors. In the last 24 hours, 29 Indian sailors have been brought back to the country safely. Addressing an inter-ministerial media briefing on recent developments in West Asia, Mukesh Mangal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, assured that all Indian ships and crew present in the Persian Gulf are being closely monitored. Confirmed that all sailors in the area are safe.

Mukesh Mangal said that all Indian sailors are safe in this area. There have been no reports of any incident involving any Indian flagged ship in the last 24 hours. He said that the Ministry of Ports and Shipping has facilitated the safe return of 2829 Indian seafarers. 29 sailors have been brought back in the last 24 hours. He informed that the control room of the Directorate General of Shipping is actively handling the queries and assistance requests. He said that the DGCA control room has received around eight thousand calls and seventeen thousand emails. In the last 24 hours, we have received 114 calls and 276 emails. Tension remains high in the Gulf region as the US and Iran have failed to reach an agreement to end the conflict. However, the temporary cease-fire remains in place after the April 21 deadline passed, giving Washington and Tehran enough time to negotiate terms. Trump has expressed his deep dissatisfaction with Tehran’s recent diplomatic initiatives. He stressed that Washington would not move forward with talks unless the nuclear issue was resolved directly. The US President also claimed that Iran has signaled that it is in a state of collapse and as a result is pushing for the Strait of Hormuz to be reopened as quickly as possible.
