Gujarat civic elections: Kejriwal claims, AAP shows big lead

Knews Desk-Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given a big statement regarding the recent local body elections held in Gujarat. He has claimed that this time the party has performed much better than before and AAP’s hold in Gujarat is getting stronger. According to Kejriwal, in a state like Gujarat where Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been dominant for a long time, AAP has registered a significant lead this time. He said that the party has won many times more seats than last time and this is a sign that the public now wants change.

Kejriwal also said in his statement that AAP is no longer limited to Delhi or Punjab only, but is emerging as a strong political option in Gujarat as well. He claimed that the party has gained support in both rural and urban areas and AAP has gained base in many new areas. Attacking BJP, he said that dissatisfaction among the people is increasing due to the government of the same party in the state for a long time. Kejriwal alleged that the public was not able to find a real alternative, but now AAP has emerged as a new alternative.

Although political analysts believe that BJP is still in the strongest position in Gujarat, but the presence of AAP has made the contest interesting. The party has performed well in some areas, which indicates that it can further strengthen the role of the opposition in the future. Kejriwal also said that the focus of his party is to fight against corruption and provide better governance to the people. He said that if AAP gets more opportunities, it can implement the development model in Gujarat like Delhi and Punjab.

Meanwhile, BJP leaders say that their party has once again performed strongly in the state and has retained the public trust. He claims that AAP’s influence is still limited and it has not been able to bring major changes in the entire state. The local elections in Gujarat have shown that the politics of the state is gradually becoming competitive and AAP is now trying to make its place as an emerging political force.
