The heat of inflation will come after the elections… Rahul Gandhi’s sharp attack on inflation
Knews Desk-Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has made a scathing attack on the central government over the sharp increase in the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders. Posting on social media platform
According to Rahul Gandhi, the price of a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has increased by ₹993 in a single day, which he described as the “biggest single-day increase ever”. He claimed that since February the prices of gas cylinders have increased by a total of ₹1,380, which represents an increase of about 81 percent.
He said that this increase will have a direct impact on small businessmen and the service sector. From tea shops to dhabas, hotels, bakeries and confectionery business, the cost of everything will increase. Due to this, there is a possibility of increase in the prices of food items, the burden of which will ultimately fall on the pockets of the common consumer. Rahul Gandhi also said in his post that this is only the beginning and further increase in the prices of petrol and diesel may also be seen. Terming it an “election bill”, he raised questions on the economic policies of the government.
At the same time, economic experts believe that changes in commercial gas prices depend on the international market, crude oil prices and dollar-rupee exchange rate. However, rising costs definitely impact the service sector and small businesses. There is no official response from the government on this statement yet. But concerns are being raised in the market about this increase, especially before weddings and festive seasons, when the demand for commercial gas is highest. This sharp increase in commercial LPG has again heated up the political debate and politics on this issue is likely to intensify in the coming days.
