Treatment worth more than ₹ 465 crore under ‘Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana’ in Punjab, more than 42 lakh cards issued

Punjab Government has shared an important update regarding the Chief Minister Health Scheme. This is a health scheme, whose objective is to provide affordable treatment to families. So far, treatments worth more than ₹465.36 crore have been provided under the scheme, more than 42 lakh health cards have been issued, and more than 2.77 lakh treatments have been provided to the beneficiaries. This shows that a large number of families are trusting the health card and taking advantage of it.

Appeal to eligible people to register

Despite this remarkable success, the government has appealed to all those eligible who have not yet enrolled to get themselves registered as soon as possible. The government has stressed that medical emergencies can occur at any time, and timely registration can save families from financial burden at such times.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that this scheme is making health services accessible to every citizen of Punjab. He said that the expenditure of more than ₹465.36 crore on about 2.77 lakh pre-authorization requests and more than 42 lakh registrations is proof that people are trusting the scheme. He requested that those who have not yet enrolled should not delay, as the scheme provides financial security in times of need.

A major feature of this scheme is that it is open to everyone. There is no limit on the basis of age, gender or income. That is why it is one of the most inclusive health programs in the country.

To help more and more people register, the government is organizing daily registration camps in villages, towns and cities. These camps are being organized at convenient places like Gurudwaras, Panchayat houses, temples and community centres. Trained staff are present at these places, who guide people, check documents and complete the registration on the spot. This makes the process easier for everyone.

The government has also removed some common misconceptions. This scheme is not only for poor families, but for all the residents of Punjab. Registration is simple and assistance is available at the camps. Under this scheme, treatment in government and listed private hospitals is cashless. Under this scheme, each family gets a treatment cover of up to ₹10 lakh per year, which includes major surgeries and critical illnesses.

How is the registration process?

The registration process is simple. People can visit any camp or center without appointment, carrying necessary documents like Aadhar Card and Voter ID and complete the registration with the help of the staff. After completion of the process they will receive confirmation through SMS.

The Punjab government is continuously encouraging the families of the state to register for this scheme, so that no one has to compromise on health services due to lack of money.
