Ukraine carried out a massive drone attack on a Russian oil port, causing massive devastation in the Baltic and Black Sea.
Ukraine Drone Attack Russian Baltic Port Primorsk News: The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has now reached a new and destructive turn with both sides now targeting each other’s economic and energy centres. On Sunday (3 May 2026), the Ukrainian Army carried out a major drone attack on Primorsk, a major oil exporter port in Russia’s Baltic Sea.
Leningrad Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed that the attack had caused a fire in the city. Which was extinguished after much effort. However, it is a matter of relief that till now there has been no news of any oil leakage due to this attack.
Why is Primorsk port special?
The port of Primorsk is one of Russia’s most important export hubs, with the capacity to load approximately one million barrels of oil per day. According to Governor Drozdenko, more than 60 Ukrainian drones were shot down during overnight military operations in this northwestern region. Ukraine has stepped up attacks on Russian energy infrastructure in recent months. Which is an indication that the war has now moved beyond the border areas to Russia’s economic interests.
‘Shadow Fleet’in the Black Sea attack on
Looking at this attack, it now seems that Ukraine’s strategy is not limited to the Baltic Sea only. President Volodymyr Zelensky has also announced that Ukrainian forces have successfully targeted two Shadow Fleet tankers at the entrance to Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.
Zelensky took a tough stance in his Telegram message, saying that these tankers were being used to transport oil but now they will not be able to do so. He also said that Ukraine will continue to develop its long-range strike capabilities in water, land and air.

Drone attacks happening almost daily

In a recent attack on an apartment block in the Russian region of Smolensk, three people, including a child, were injured.
Moscow Governor Andrei Vorobyov said a 77-year-old man was killed in an attack in a village on Saturday evening. Whereas according to the Mayor of Moscow, four drones moving towards the capital were shot down in time.

Russian bombing in Ukraine
