Petrol Diesel Rate Today: Following the attacks on Iran by the US and Israel on February 28, global oil prices skyrocketed, prompting Tehran to retaliate with major attacks, effectively closing the Strait of Hormuz. Crude oil, which cost around $70 per barrel last year, rose to an average of more than $114 per barrel by the end of April. However, the Government of India said that there has been no change in the retail prices of petrol and diesel from the beginning of April 2022.
Last week, a senior petroleum ministry official said that despite the rise in international oil prices, state-owned oil companies are making losses of about ₹20 per liter on petrol and ₹100 per liter on diesel as retail prices have remained unchanged for almost four years.
