Will the magic of Vijay work or BJP will take the crown, excitement is intense before the results in Tamil Nadu, trends will come in a short time.

Tamil Nadu Election Result 2026: The results of Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026 will come today on 4th May. Counting of votes will start from 8 o’clock today. Different parties and alliances of the state are claiming their respective victories. Meanwhile, the biggest question is who will get the keys to power in Tamil Nadu this time?

This time, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Tamil Nadu is facing the main opposition party in alliance with All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and Bharatiya Janata Party along with actor-turned-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK). This hung battle has made the politics of the state even more interesting.

Apart from Vijay, other actors are in the fray

Apart from Vijay, Nam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) led by actor-politician Seeman is also in the fray, making a tough four-way contest in the state. Voting for all 234 assembly constituencies took place on April 23, and the Election Commission has confirmed that 4.88 crore voters cast their votes. Whose results will come today.

Stalin will be tested by fire

For Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, this election is a test of whether the DMK’s welfare governance model, social justice issues and coalition management will be able to withstand the anti-incumbency wave. The DMK-led alliance has expressed confidence and Tamil Nadu Congress President K. Selvaperunthagai claims that the alliance can cross the 200 seats mark.

Edappadi K. Palaniswami-led AIDMK has attempted to consolidate anti-DMK votes by forming an alliance with BJP, PMK and AMMK. However, the presence of the BJP in the alliance has made the contest even more intense, especially in a state where Dravidian politics has traditionally been opposed to the BJP’s national vision.

Vijay’s TVK emerged rapidly

The most unexpected factor in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections this time is Vijay’s TVK party. Since its formation, TVK has become the fastest growing party in the state and experts believe that Vijay’s TVK may emerge as the kingmaker in this election.

According to an estimate, TVK may get surprisingly more seats, while most of the polls are showing DMK leading. Vijay has projected his party as a political opponent of the DMK and an ideological opponent of the BJP, allowing him to become a kingmaker in the event of a fractured mandate.

DMK’s victory strengthens Stalin

A clear victory for the DMK will strengthen Stalin’s leadership and further cement the dominance of the ruling coalition. A return to power under the leadership of AIDMK will again boost Palaniswami’s status and legitimize his coalition strategy. Despite not being in power, TVK’s strong performance could reshape the state’s political structure ahead of the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
