At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, a major IPL moment unfolded as Sunil Narine reached the 200- wicket landmark during a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League.
The achievement made Narine the first overseas player in IPL history to reach 200 wickets. He reached the milestone after dismissing a Sunrisers Hyderabad batter, moving from 199 to 200 wickets in the league.
KKR owner and Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan reacted to the achievement with a special message on social media.
The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actor shared a picture with Narine and wrote, “Sunil, my friend… here’s to 15 seasons… over 200 wickets… 3 titles and many more with the@KKRidersfranchise around the globe!!! You are a magician and we love you like our own family.”
The Dunk actor further added, “Big hug for today and always… Be healthy and keep smiling!”
Narine has been one of KKR’s most consistent players since joining the team in 2012. Over the years, he has played a key role in their multiple title wins and has remained a core part of their bowling attack.
