GT vs PBKS: Gujarat Titans entered top-4 with victory, defeated Punjab by 4 wickets
Ahmedabad. After the excellent bowling performance of Jason Holder (four wickets), thanks to the brilliant batting of Sai Sudarshan (57) and Washington Sundar (40 not out), Gujarat Titans defeated Punjab Kings by four wickets in the 46th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Sunday and made it to the top four in the points table. Chasing the target of 164 runs, Gujarat Titans did not have a good start and lost the wicket of captain Shubhman Gill (five) in the second over. He was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh.
After this, Jos Buttler along with Sai Sudarshan added 53 runs for the second wicket. In the ninth over, Vijaykumar Vaishak broke this partnership by dismissing Jos Buttler for 25 runs in 22 balls. Marcus Stoinis gave the third blow to Gujarat by dismissing Nishant Sindhu on 15. Vijaykumar Vaishak made Sai Sudarshan his victim in the 15th over. Sai Sudarshan played an innings of 57 runs in 41 balls, hitting five fours and one six.

Gujarat Titans won the toss and decided to bowl first. Punjab Kings, who came to bat, had to face Gujarat’s bowling havoc and lost five wickets till the score of 47 runs. Priyansh Arya (two) and Cooper Connelly (0) were dismissed by Mohammed Siraj. Prabhsimran Singh (15) was made his victim by Kagiso Rabada.
Nehal Badhera (0) and captain Shreyas Iyer (19) were dismissed by Jason Holder. In such a crisis, the pair of Suryansh Shedge and Marcus Stoinis handled the innings. There was a partnership of 79 runs between the two batsmen for the sixth wicket. Rabada ended this partnership by dismissing Suryansh Shedge in the 16th over. Shedge played an innings of 57 runs in 29 balls, hitting three fours and five sixes.
Jason Holder dismissed Marcus Stoinis in the 18th over. Stoinis scored 40 runs in 31 balls, hitting five fours and one six. On the fifth ball of the same over, Holder dismissed Xavier Bartlett (0) and sent him to the pavilion. On the fifth ball of the 20th over, Rashid Khan dismissed Marco Janson (20 runs) in 11 balls. Punjab Kings scored 163 runs for nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Jason Holder took four wickets for Gujarat Titans. Mohammad Siraj and Kagiso Rabada got two wickets each. Rashid Khan dismissed one batsman.
