There will be rain with strong storm, hail will fall in many areas

Delhi: It rained in the national capital Delhi-NCR on Tuesday evening. Hail has also occurred in many areas of Delhi. People have got respite from the heat in the season of May. There has been a sharp drop in temperature due to rain along with hailstorm and thunderstorm in many parts. The city’s air was the cleanest recorded this year. Hail fell in many areas including Dwarka and Indira Gandhi International Airport.

It’s going to rain at night
Skymet Vice President Mahesh Palawat said that due to the active Western Disturbance in recent times, a cyclonic circulation has persisted in the region, which may cause light rain tonight (Tuesday-Wednesday). He also said that there is less possibility of heat wave continuing for the next one week. Therefore people will get relief from the heat.

Yellow alert issued, weather will remain cold
The Meteorological Department has just issued ‘Yellow Alert’ in Delhi-NCR. The weather department has predicted rain during the night. Besides, hailstorm has also been predicted in some areas of Delhi. Due to this, the weather will remain cold on Wednesday morning also. There will be light clouds and sunshine during the day. During this period, cold winds will also continue to blow.

Know where and how much rain occurred in Delhi?
In Delhi, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, Palam recorded 9.8 mm rainfall, while Aya Nagar received 1.4 mm rainfall. Safdarjung recorded only light rain, while Lodhi Road and Ridge area received no rain during the period. In the data till 8.30 am, 11.9 mm rain was recorded in Ridge, 6.1 mm in Lodhi Road and 4.6 mm in Safdarjung, while there was light rain in Palam and no rain in Aya Nagar.

Know the temperature of different areas of Delhi
Safdarjung recorded 33.6 degrees Celsius (5.7 degrees below normal), Palam 32.8 degrees (7.3 degrees below normal), Lodhi Road 32.2 degrees (5.8 degrees below), Ridge 32.8 degrees (7.2 degrees below) and Aya Nagar 32.8 degrees (8 degrees below normal). The minimum temperature also remained below normal. Safdarjung recorded 19.6 degrees (low 5.1 degrees), Palam 21.1 degrees (low 4.5 degrees), Lodhi Road 18.6 degrees (low 4.4 degrees), Ridge 17.7 degrees (low 7.3 degrees) and Aya Nagar 22.4 degrees (low 1.2 degrees).
